This 3-hour workshop is a combination of my popular Preserving the Harvest and Mastering Fermentation workshops. During the afternoon you will learn how to safely preserve and ferment a variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables. This demonstration-style workshop includes plenty of food interaction and time to have your preserving and fermentation questions answered.
- Demonstration and discussion on preserving fruit with little or no sugar.
- Learn different preserving and fermentation techniques to suit different kitchens and needs.
- Basic lacto-fermentation including everyday sauerkraut and brine-style pickles.
- Including a delicious afternoon tea with samples of the preserves and ferments.
- Plus a recipe folder to take home.
Date: Saturday 4th March 2017
Time: 1 – 4 pm
Bring: a small lidded 250 ml jar to take home a sample of the produce prepared.
Location: Broccoli Row Cafe, 132 Collingwood Street, Nelson City (Drive into Health@132 Complex, plenty of off-street parking)
*Due to work and family commitments I am unable to travel further afield this term so I am offering this 3-hour Saturday afternoon cooking workshop in Nelson. If you are traveling from out of town please contact me if you require accommodation suggestions. Broccoli Row is centrally located so easy to access, and be sure to make time to visit the famous Nelson Saturday Market in the morning.*
