Description
I am now offering my popular cooking workshops as online classes from my home kitchen (open to NZ and Australia only at this time). These are small group workshops held via Zoom with plenty of interaction and opportunity for questions. You can choose to cook along with me – a list of ingredients and equipment will be emailed the week prior to the workshop.
An online class is different from in-person workshops but there are other benefits of teaching out of my home kitchen. I have access to my own kitchen equipment to share with you, plus the multimedia teaching options available via the Zoom platform. After teaching cooking workshops for over 16 years I am enjoying this new addition to my class offerings. I have had many requests for online workshops over the years as my in-person workshops fill up fast. With the added benefit that I can reach further afield to places I am unable to visit.

Each summer and autumn I preserve close to 100 jars of fruit from our backyard. I use low-sugar with all my preserving, and where possible no sugar at all, following precise preserving techniques. In this demonstration-style workshop learn how to safely preserve and ferment a variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables. Including:
- Demonstration and discussion on preserving fruit with little or no sugar.
- Learn different preserving techniques to suit different kitchens and needs.
- How to safely ferment summer produce into lacto-fermented brine pickles.
- + Delicious food samples on the evening & recipe folder to take home.
Date: Saturday 6th March 2021
Time: 2 – 4.30pm
Where: Private Zoom Meeting*
*The Zoom link will be sent prior to the workshop date – a quiet house/kitchen and laptop or tablet are recommended for best viewing. Please make sure you are familiar with using Zoom and have the app downloaded before the workshop (if needed). The meeting will be open 15 minutes prior so I have time to sign everyone in, and the workshop will start promptly at the start time.
You will need: a laptop or device for viewing, and a pen and paper to take notes. If cooking along you will need ingredients and equipment as listed in the email sent the week prior to the workshop.
The fine print: Your online booking and payment confirm your place in the workshop. A reminder email with the Zoom link will be sent prior to the workshop. Please check the date carefully. Due to time constraints, unfortunately, I am unable to offer a refund if your plans change, however, I am happy for you to send a friend in your place.
